School don cost.
with laughter, disbelief, and a lump in the throat.
What’s up guyyyy?!
How did your week go?

Because between ASUU’s slow burn, real tuition heartbreak, a 53-year-old SUG legend, and #EndSARS remembrance. Nigeria has truly been doing the most. Let’s not even talk about how MTN and Zenith bank wanted to be weapons fashioned against me last week.😒
Will Nigeria ever cease to amaze frustrate me?
ASUU vs FG – The Battle of Nonchalance 2
The academic cold war continues. ASUU “suspended” their strike, giving the federal government a one-month ultimatum to do the needful. FG said “we’re reviewing it”; my parents keep asking me, “so are you resuming or not?”
With this academic calendar that’s on life support?
School Fees: They’ve Actually Increased
Breaking news: it’s not “they might increase” anymore…they did.
If you’re a student in FUTMINNA
It’s so concluded that even NELFUND is up-to-date with it
#EndSARS Remembrance Day 🕊
October 20 can never be just another day.
It’s been five years since young Nigerians stood up to say enough is enough, and paid for it with their lives.
From Lekki Toll Gate to every street where voices rose for justice, the memories remain.
So while we laugh and drag tuition fees and grandpa-presidents, we pause here…for the lost and the loud, for the ones who still believe Nigeria can work.
FUTCH 2025? Still Loud.
FUTCH is still doing numbers on timelines. The fits slapped, the sessions too!! and the conversations actually made sense... People came, spoke, connected, and served.
If you weren’t there, the photos on Instagram are currently haunting you.
Soooooo… see you at FUTCH next year?😏
Grandpa Wins SUG Elections
At Ignatius Ajuru University, Rev. Alex Onu (53 years old!) is the new SUG President.
Yes, you read that right. five-three.
Now, before you say, Gbemi please! A 53-year-old SUG president-elect??!! Nigeria will never stop giving content!
He said he’s “young at heart” and “in his early 40s in 400 Level Political Science.”
Sir, that’s not youth- that’s youth plus experience bundle.👀
But hey, age is just a number and apparently, on campus, it’s also a campaign strategy.
Let’s recap,
ASUU’s still negotiating, fees have ascended, FUTCH’s still trending, and a 53-year-old man just beat Gen Z to the SUG presidency. Nigeria’s economy is… there. (Let’s not cry this week, please.)
Yet amid the chaos, we remember October 20 and the reason we still hope.
If that’s not a summary of Nigeria’s energy and reality, nothing is.
Till next gist,
Gbemi from 10.8.8 Africa
